Giving senior management the power to dive deep into complex datasets, spot issues, and make informed decisions lightning-fas…
A redesigned home screen for a safety planning tool that tracks safety status and inspections across the company. The previous dashboard was cluttered, making it hard to see what needed attention first. The new design gives leaders a single, clear snapshot of safety checks, overdue actions and upcoming reviews so they can scan the situation at a glance.
Everyday decisions depend on knowing which locations are compliant, which ones are at risk and where inspections are falling behind. In the previous version, this information was scattered across several screens and reports, forcing managers to manually piece together the full picture. The new design brings all critical indicators into one place. Clear status summaries, colour-coded risk levels and simple drill-downs let users spot issues in seconds, instead of searching through multiple lists and spreadsheets.
We started by mapping the existing workflows. This helped us identify where information was duplicated, which metrics were truly decision-making, and which could safely be moved into detail views. Based on this, we restructured the information architecture of the home screen to support faster scanning and clearer prioritisation. We then refined the interface with reusable UI components, a clear visual hierarchy for different safety states. Key numbers, trends and exceptions are now grouped into a few simple sections, turning a once cluttered view into a clean, scannable dashboard that supports confident day-to-day decisions.
The tool is used by many roles – from HSE coordinators and site managers to central leadership. The new home screen brings together role-based highlights and clear status cards, giving everyone a single view of current risks, upcoming inspections and outstanding follow-ups. Next to this overview, action tiles provide one-click access to planning inspections. An AI insights panel analyses inspection history to surface recurring issues and suggest where to focus next, turning the dashboard into a starting point.
